The Team

Thys Vogels leads a team of over 110 staff as General Manager of the Gresham Metropole Hotel, widely regarded as one of Cork City's landmark hotels. Thys has been with the Gresham Hotel Group since 2000, having previously worked in a number of their other properties, and prior to joining the Gresham Hotel Group, Thys held a number of positions with The Town House Company in Edinburgh.

The Management team at the Gresham Metropole has been chosen to reflect the long and illustrious history of the hotel as a leader both nationally and internationally in all that is best in the industry.

The Deputy General Manager Roger Russell brings a wealth of European sophistication and international experience to the Gresham Metropole, having worked previously in both France and Holland.

Noel Bridgeman, Head Chef, who, with over 40 years service at the Gresham Metropole, has long been acknowledged by his peers to be a leader in his field. His legendary status amongst the many celebrities and dignitaries who considered the Metropole a "home away from home" over the years is indeed well deserved.

These acclaimed hospitality professionals continue the long tradition which, for over a 100 years, has made The Metropole a bye-word for graciousness and charm. They are proud to continue this tradition into the 21st. century ably assisted by their dedicated and peerless teams.
